I would say, it is missing a nice icon at all. :)

It will be Vista Ultimate.

Yeah, thought about something like that. But for 16x16 it will be hard to identify (like the favicon here). And I'm a complete loser on creating graphics.

I hope to get both 32 and 64bit. Actually I get a version sponsored by an MS employee. I hope I can get the other DVD through this cheap update (wasn't it 15EUR for the DVD or so?).

Hi!
I was until now using EventGhost 0.3.2 (Setup File Name : EventGhost_0.3.2_Setup.exe) under WindowsXP SP2 until I installed Windows Vista yesterday.
As described here I couldn't change master sound, so I tried to install the build 986 (last build at the time of writing), which terminated by "some error occured, see logfile". It was the same for build 982 (oldest since bugfix).
Here is the content of the logfile :
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "EventGhost.pyw", line 34, in ?
File "E:\EventGhost/eg/Main.py", line 140, in ?
eg.Init(args)
File "E:\EventGhost\eg\Init.py", line 123, in Init
import Log
File "E:\EventGhost\eg\Log.py", line 34, in ?
oldStdOut = codecs.lookup("ascii").streamwriter(sys.stdout, 'backslashreplace')
AttributeError: 'tuple' object has no attribute 'streamwriter'

if you want you can see my config file : http://tamaire.Free.fr/MyConfig.xml

I hope you will be able to help me.

Re: [FIXED] Volume change in Windows Vista

Postby carmenm » Thu Apr 02, 2009 2:02 pm

Hi,

I know this post is quite old, but it might actually be my solution.

I am building an application for xp and vista which can change the volume. I am compiling my application under xp using mingw. So i clearly have a probem with the volume under vista. I saw about the dll "vistaVolume" which was talked about in this thread. It might be my solution for building my application under xp without needing endpointvolume.h and other files.
Sadly the link to the dll does not work anymore. So i was wondering if someone around here still had that dll? That might help me a lot.

Thanks

Martin

"Build 982 is up with your second DLL in the "System" plugin folder"

This means, look in EG's folder structure plugins/system and you should find the dll there (provided you have at least that eg version or newer installed). I have the dll in my folder.

Get Volume in Vista

Postby jitterjames » Sat Aug 29, 2009 12:58 pm

I am running vista and the set volume control works great. Looking at this thread, it seems that the dll has a getvolume function, but I don't see the option in eventghost.

Was it taken out because it doesn't work or am I just blind?

Looking at the code in plugins/system, it seems I could add the function but I think it should be part of the standard install.

So can you add this function, or if I add it, would you include it in the standard install?

thanks

OK. I figured out that I can use "changemastervolume" by 0% and then it returns the volume in eg.result.

maybe this should be mentioned in the action description.
