Plugin for Total Media Theatre 5

Postby doveman » Mon Jun 25, 2012 6:19 pm

I've got Eventghost working nicely with Mediaportal but I also need to set it up to control TMT5 (which will be launched from Mediaportal to play DVDs).

I tried adding the plugin posted here http://www.eventghost.org/forum/viewtop ... 8408#p8408 and creating a folder and adding macros for Play and Pause, pressing those buttons and dragging the HID codes to the Macros but when I press them it shows "Application is not running" under Mediaportal but "Error" under TMT, so I don't think that's right.

I did try using the remote (Emprex 3009URF http://www.amazon.co.uk/Emprex-3009URF- ... B002A8HEFY ) without Eventghost but the only buttons that worked were the directional keys and the DVDMenu key so I'll need to set it up to send the keyboard commands in Eventghost.

Try my config file TMT5 work ok

It work not so bad also when launched within MCE, never tried with mediaportal but that should give you solutions i hope. For ex. have a look at the macros "Mce Play, Mce Pause you'll see 2 differents keystrokes one for mce one for tmt5.

Thanks, I appreciate you posting your config but it's not really what I need.

I just need a version of the TMT .py file (attached) that works for TMT5.

I imagine it's just a matter of changing this line:
FindTMT = eg.WindowMatcher(u'uDigital{*}', None, None, None, None, 1, False, 0.0, 0)

so that it identifies when uMCEPlayer5.exe is running, but I don't know how to do that. Some of the keys in the ACTION section might have changed between TMT3 and TMT5 but I can edit those myself.

Unfortunately, I am a big EG newbie, but nobody else has replied yet, here is what I would try:

Have TMT running.
Open EG.
Look for an action called something like "Find Window:xxxx" and double click to open it.
In that window look for the 'Drag Finder'. Drag the cross hair to the TMT window, till it is highlighted, then drop it.
In the EG Action Item Settings window 'Program' and/or 'Window Name' should now be updated with TMT info.
Done!

When I tried it for my TMT5 version, I got Program: uTotalMediaTheatre5.exe / Window Name: TotalMedia Theatre 5.

Hope this helps!

Hey man, not as big an EG newbie as me obviously ;)

Thanks a lot for the tip, I'll give it a go later and then I should be able to modify the TMT3 script, cheers :)
