USB-UIRT/MSNTV2 IR Keyboard

I picked up an MSNTV2 this weekend for cheap so I could use the IR keyboard with XBMC. All the keys are labeled perfectly.

So I got it home and opened EG and started pressing keys and noticed something really weird. Pressing "A" quickly, I get this:
20:17:17 USB_UIRT.Unknown.10A8

But when I press "S", I get the same entry in the log:
20:17:19 USB_UIRT.Unknown.10A8

So, I hold down "A" and I get this, repeating:
20:17:17 USB_UIRT.Unknown.10A8
20:17:17 USB_UIRT.Unknown.108
20:17:17 USB_UIRT.Unknown.10
20:17:17 USB_UIRT.Unknown.42A2
20:17:18 USB_UIRT.Unknown.428
20:17:18 USB_UIRT.Unknown.40

And holding down "S", I get this, repeating:
20:17:19 USB_UIRT.Unknown.10A8
20:17:19 USB_UIRT.Unknown.108
20:17:19 USB_UIRT.Unknown.10
20:17:20 USB_UIRT.Unknown.42A0
20:17:20 USB_UIRT.Unknown.428
20:17:20 USB_UIRT.Unknown.40

So it looks like the 42A2 and the 42A0 are the codes I want, but as you can see, it takes holding down the key around a second to get that code. This won't be of any use unless I can get the correct code to read when I press the key momentarily. Anyone have any ideas on what to do with this one?

Well, I've found several other keys that share the same codes, even holding the key down so there must be something else going on.

EDIT:
I've put these codes into my GlobalCache GC-100 IR controller and stuck an emitter on the USB-UIRT and found the same results. If I repeat the IR code about 12 times, I see the 6 lines above show up in the log. So, would this be the USB-UIRT not decoding correctly? Or something with EventGhost?
