Trigger Macros from Keyboard and Mousepad

Postby inout » Tue Jan 03, 2012 3:47 pm

Hi Folk.
I just joined to the EventGhost Communities.

I can not get the basic things to work like Triggering a macro onClick(LeftmouseBotton) or by pressing a Shortcut key.
In the log-panel are only:
system.idle,system.unidle, system.powerstatuschange, system.clipboardchanged,
but no keystroke, mouseclick, nothing

What am i trying to do:
toggle pause and play on windows media player by left mouse click on playing video (similar to youtube and other web-player)

How can i do that?
Is there an reference for most common Events, in order to copy-paste them in AddEvent-Dialog?

Do you have the "log only assigned events" button ticked (lower left corner of EG)?
That would keep you from seeing other PC actions.

Be there or be square.

i tried with checked and not checked "log only assigned events".
Also Run EG normal and Run as Administrator.

The some thing:
No Keystrokes, No MouseButtons has been logged.

Additional observation:
When i have EG open an type wild random keys, at some point EventGhost stops responding.

Hi all.
I hope there will be solution or workaround for my Problem:
No Keystrokes, No Mouse Buttons has been logged.

I tried to overcome this issue by allowing Firewall and Registry Controller unrestricted access.
Unfortunately without success.

Does Anyone have an idea? What i can also try?

Did you add the Generic HID plugin?

You need to add that plugin in order to get events from keyboard and mouse.

I know, it's not obvious.

There's also a 'keyboard' plugin.

@dopdahl

When i try to add Generic HID Plugin, there are no devices listed.
The only button on this dialog is Cancel.

But i tried the Keyboard Plugin, and now the EventGhost is not freezing on keystroke.
This is a half success.

Is there a Mouse-(notebook integrated pointer device)-Plugin also?

Thanks.

I just found it.

But is there a way to connect mouse event to specific application/dialog/GUI-ControlElement?
Or at least to a rectangular area inside an application?

I do not know, I've never used it and even I never download it.
