Config problem

I have a config file


I use Wiindows Media Center (Win 7 32). I have a Harmony remote programmed for MCE commands.
I want to program forwaard, reverse, play and pause into my config file.
When I press the "play" button on my keyboard no event shows up in the log. The same key is for "pause".
The commands are executed, but are not logged.

Any ideas on why? Can I type the command? What is needed to activate the command?

How do I program forward and reverse?

I believe the EG log will only show actions from your remote... not the keyboard.
(there may be a way to make it show though... I'm not sure.)

If you use the MCE plugin you will not need to program keyboard cmds. Just program the harmony as an mce remote.

You probably need to add generic HID-plugin and select your Keyboard. There may be multiple entries for your keyboard, so you have to try which one is for the media keys.

Follow-up to this issue
Ok I think I have found the correct HID keyboard to use. The log shows an event when I push the "Play/Pause" key on the keyboard. The first four lines appear in this jpg when I press the play/pause key. The second two lines appears when I press the 'play/pause' button on my remote.

I think I have created an event to correlate the two as shown in the right side of the jpg. However, something must be wrong with this command as when I press the play/pause button on the remote, nothing happens to Media Center to stop the video.

What am I doing wrong???

Yes, this behavior is expected.
You're probably not reading the description, which is part of the plugin Keyboard:

Notice: If such a keyboard event is assigned to a macro, the plugin will block the key, so Windows or another application will not see it anymore. This is needed to permit remapping of keys as otherwise the old key would reach the target in conjunction of another action you might want to do and this is mostly not what you intend.
But this blocking only happens, if a macro would actually execute in succession of the event. So if the macro or any of its parents is disabled, the keypress will pass through.
But it probably is not relevant. You probably do not need the Keyboard plugin.

The point is this:
In your macro is no action.
You have to insert there the action that will do the work required.

What action do I add to emluate the "play/pause' button on my keyboard??? It does not exist as an action...

Yes, you can use the action Emulate Keystrokes: {Ctrl + P}, but before you had to use the Find Window action.
But why complicate life when there's a plugin MCE:

I realized that I didn't have the latest version of EG. So I installed it and now I find the MCE plugin.

I tried it and it using the remote but it doesn't work to control the PLAY PAUSE functions.
Funny that other functions do work using the keyboard emulation plugin.
what to do?

I do not know what does not work.
I do not like WMC (or any other MC). To be able to help you, I had to overcome and I try it.
I tried the action MCE: PlayPause (as requested). It worked properly.
