I don't know if you typo'd but the blue lines don't quite look the same to me. the 4th character is an 'A' in one and an '8' in the other. I don't know what it means though...

Okay I am new to forum here and I am stuck.

I have Win7 x64 and latest version of eventghost.
I am using the HP MCE IR Reciever Transmitter
I have a gyration air music remote controller (RF)
I have a samsung LCD tv - 32" ln450

I am trying to get my remote to turn on the TV based upon the remote sending a power signal via RF to the computer.

I have installed everything including this plugin (not installing the standard MCE remote)

I have the power button event showing up and used it as trigger for a macro to run the IR transmit

I got the IR code to be learned from the samsung TV remote

When I test the transmit or execute the macro or trigger the macro via the remote event nothing happens.

It is like the blaster is not sending anything.

I am not seeing any error messages - although sometimes the eventghost play button icon turns red for a few seconds.

Any ideas on what I am missing? is it the frequency of the blaster?

I don't own an MCE Keyboard for teaching/learning purposes, but I need EventGhost to transmit key combinations as if it were coming from an MCE Keyboard, such as: Ctrl-Shift-R

Is this possible?

Hi, I've got some problems with this as well. My MCE remote was working well with the reciever before. But now when I use this script i get different codes everytime i press the same button on the remote which is very weird.

Also about the ir blasting, can't get it to work. It does transmitt but tv/amplifier does not response at all. Very thankful for any help

Is the blaster blinking when you transmit? If so, it is physically sending something. You might try getting codes from remotecentral and seeing if that works? It could be that the remote you want to mimic is outside the RF of the emitter, I know that is possible, but I'm not sure how common it is.

Unless I'm missing something you should be able to just use the "Emulate Keystrokes" from the Window actions. Don't think you need this plugin at all.

If it was working and you didn't change your config, it is probably low batteries in your remote. As for transmit, I'd suggest checking remote central as well.

I tried brand new batteries and the remote 1cm from reciever. Still getting crap:

MceRemote.Unknown.BF5FBFFCB70F87AFD70
MceRemote.Unknown.2FEBFFFFF87EBD70
MceRemote.Unknown.2FD7FFFF2A7AFD7C
MceRemote.Unknown.BF5FDFFCB70
MceRemote.Unknown.2FEBFFFFF87EBD70
MceRemote.Unknown.BFFFF2A7AFD7C
MceRemote.Unknown.BF5FAFFCB70
MceRemote.Unknown.BF5FDFFCB70

That is from the same button being pressed a few times. Sometimes two codes from one press all seems random.

What changed in your setup? Different lighting? Moved the sensor? Something w/software should be included on the list, but I find that causing the problem as very unlikely, as it is the receiver hardware that measures the duration of each IR pulse. In software I connect to the device and pass around the array of durations for processing. It looks like your receiver is detecting the pulses differently.

I didn't change anything in my setup. All I did was install the service and this is what I got.

Running windows 7 32bit with latest eventghost. Using the driver for the reciever that windows choose

When you said "My MCE remote was working well with the reciever before" I thought you meant using this plugin. I think I inferred wrong - you meant using the driver that came with Windows, right? Then when you installed the service for this remote it has always detected Unknowns?

That would indicate that your remote is transmitting an IR encoding that EG doesn't have a decoder for. What brand/model do you have?

Seems to be a bit of missanderstanding here, sorry about that.

I'm using the remote that comes with the MCE ir reciever. It's working perfect with the plugin that comes with EG (except transmitting ir). The second I turn on the service that plugin stops working (running both at the same time, tried closing the old one no difference) but the ir transmitting with this plugin works perfect.

Yes it has always detected my MCE remote as an unknown with this service and this plugin. So can't be that EG doesnt have a decoder.

No problem, thanks for your patience....

That's not necessarily true. The original plugin has a decoder built in on the C++ side, but it only recognizes codes from the MCE remote and ignores all other codes. Since EG already had a decoder, I decided for my Vista/Win7 version to pass the raw data to EG for it to process with its own decoders. But they are independent decoders.

I wouldn't use both at the same time. Only one process can attach to the hardware, so I would expect erratic results depending on which plugin attaches first.

I got it working kinda... realized that it only worked when windows was newly rebooted. So I went in to services and set the service "on crash reboot service" instead of closing it. But the service isn't suppose to crash to start with. It doesn't work perfect now. Sometimes it just stoppes working and then I have give it some time (guess it's rebooting the service) then it works again. This is very annoying and basiclly makes it useless for me :S

I have the exact same problem as jaaahaaa. The non Vista/Win7 plugin doesn't recognize any MCE commands at all coming from the remote*, and the Vista/Win7 version displays the same types of output as jaaahaaa describes -- "unknown" codes that often change with subsequent presses on the same button.

* Background: When I first started using EventGhost a couple of months ago (using a MediaGate remote that I read good reviews about and that is not HID-only), only the other non-Vista/Win7 plugin was available in the normal distribution (I'm using 7 x64). Using that plugin, I was seeing the MCE commands being pressed when I was hitting buttons on the remote that came with the receiver. Then after a week or so it stopped working -- I'd see nothing at all come in when I pressed buttons. The receiver was acting wonky too -- the red light indicating a detected signal was constantly on. So I returned it and got a replacement. The receiver on this one is behaving normally but I still couldn't see MCE commands. So I decided to do a full refresh: I uninstalled EventGhost, wiped any leftover files, wiped leftover registry keys, and then went and removed the IR devices from Device Manager. This didn't help (other than re-enabling the HID service for the remote), so I installed the new version of EventGhost with the new Vista/Win7 plugin. Now, with the old version of the plugin I still see nothing; with the newer plugin, I see the codes that jaaahaaa describes.

Hi Stottle.

Thanks for putting the time and effort for creating this plugin and service.
It works great for me for non-blasting, but for blasting I'm having trouble like the service crashing.

I'm using windows 7 ultimate 64bit, and I'd be happy to reproduce if you want to send me a debug version (or if you have a way to turn on debug on the latest version).

Thanks again. Keep up the good work.
