IR-Trans support

Hi,

Would just like to bump the request for irtrans-support :)
Your project looks promising and I would really like to see support for IRTrans for it (sadly I haven't got proficient programming-knowledge to do it myself)

Well, I have no sample IRTrans device. I contacted the vendor long time ago and he wanted to supply some suitable source code, but sadly it wasn't suitable enough. This was more than a year ago and I don't have the time to run after every vendor for nothing.

I currently have a IR Trans Receiver at hand. What kind of documentation do you have?

This site mentions some dlls / activex plugin which should allow a simple integration.

@Bartman
It was a bunch of C-sources/headers. Sadly I lost them on a mailbox crash some months ago.

Which model is it exactly that you have? I guess the easiest way would be to go over the supplied TCP/IP server (build-in for the LAN-devices, others are using the irserver.exe to comply to the protocol).

http://www.irtrans.de/download/Docs/IRT ... lle_DE.pdf

But I think you should contact the vendor to see what is available.

(BTW: If you decide to use some DLL and need to transfer a bunch of C-headers to ctypes, contact me. I have installed the ctypes code generator, so I can easily build the ctypes declarations for you.)

It is built in an Origin X15e Case. I don't have all the components yet, so I have not checked the included drivers. Hopefully I can built the hardware on weekend.

I have the machine up and running. I installed the software and it seems to receive something since the icon flashes and the detected IR Commands gets filled when pressing a button.
According to documentation it has a LIRC Server built it and i can connect to it with EG's LIRC Event Receiver plugin. But i don't get any events in events ghost.
I can connect to the IRTrans port (21000) and LIRC port (8765) with telent, but nothing shows up there too. So it is possibly an IR Trans issue?!?

Is it possible, that you have to learn every IR code in the IRTrans application first, before it will recognise and send the events?

I did this but it did not work with the first remote i tried. I used a second remote and it works fine now with the lirc plugin after learning each code.

You are right there Bartman. As soon as you can see strings appear when you telnet to the lirc-server the lirc-plugin for eventghost should be able to pick those up.

Goodmorning,
I would like to know if support for IrTrans is already active.
I would like to start and control some programs (Mediaportal and PDVD9) directly from remote.
I can already control (but not start) Mediaportal via IrTrans remote.
I can't start and control PDVD9 for now.

My system:
S/O Win XP pro sp.3
Case Zalman HD160 + inbuild IrTrans reciver

Thanks
massimo

Eventghost works great with irtrans devices. It interfaces using lirc messaging via the IRserver software that comes with the Irtans units.

Receiving and sending is no problem.

I am looking into the features that allow held down buttons to send different messages to single button presses. Pretty sure this will present no problems.
