Postby hilaer » Thu Apr 30, 2009 7:04 am

Hi,
i added the Apple remote plug in - using the generic HID plug in, but i still can't get the events from some of the buttons is the apple remote (the forrward and rewind, and the menu)
i saw that there were a few posts on the issue, but i was wondering if something has changed, since i didn't find a solution in previous messages.

anyone has a solution? :?

thanks,
Hila.

My generic hid remote (recognized as a Ping-IT, it's a cheapy nobrand remote from ebay) used to work fine with version 0.3.6.1487. With all 3.7 versions (tested up to 0.3.7.r918), no keys are recognized

My generic HID plugin fails to start

"
File "C:\Program\EventGhost\eg\Classes\PluginInfo.py", line 330, in Start
TypeError:__start__() takes at least 11 arguments (1 given)
"

Need it for geting the RAW input from my HID IR remote

Any ideas ?

latest version?
Try to delete and readd the plugin. I have found a way to screw the config dialog, but this results in errors before. Will fix that on the weekend.

You can try switching EG's language, but the message does not look like this is the problem.
It looks like the plugin is started without ever being configured and therefore missing 10 arguments.

Actually there is. You can set the device Index. Unfortunatly I screwed up the config dialog so it only works with the svn version.

Since an axis always as a value the plugin would always have to send an enduring event which is not quite logical either.

Any fix for this?

Thanks.

To be honest there is no fix planned. Don't see a use in this and I don't think it would really work since the plugin would always have an enduring event blocking other things and it can't work if the device has more than one value.

this plugin work with xbox360 pad but without triggers, same problem with girder hid plugin or ir server suite hid plugin.
I know that Xpadder and Pinnacle game profiler are built for pads, but there are not free.( i own myself an Pinnacle licence).

I just receive an gift of 20 Saitek new pads that i want to donate for some children on an orphanage in my quarter, to play games , that why i need free software.
Saitek Pad work better then XBOX360 pad with this plugin, because there are no triggers, but still very poor, just basic.

To accommodate to a very specific input device it would be best to write a plugin dealing with the specifics.
I've put the generic HID code in the core of EG. It is quite easy to write a plugin.
