How do I power on Xbox 360 over IR Blaster?

Hi

I would like to have eventghost use my IR Reciever and IR Blaster to blast a signal just to turn on my xbox 360 from my pc. At first I learnt a code from my tv remote and it worked fine to change my source on tv etc, so I tried to learn power button from my Xbox 360 Universal Remote and it shows it learnt the command fine, however it never blasts anything to the xbox 360 when I try to execute it nor does the LED on the IR Blaster even show. It's been frustrating me all night

Would love to hear how to get this to work.
I did try searching for this issue however almost all posts were about using xbox remote to control pc not other way around!
