Launch Python command from an an Excel cell.

I would like to launch an Event Ghost plugin command from an Excel cell. The command would transmit from a USB_UIRT device. In a Python script, the command would be
eg.plugins.USB_UIRT.TransmitIR (u'0000 0067 000..............................................).
Suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!
