One key two different macros

Postby queequeeg78 » Wed Feb 23, 2011 6:41 am

Im new to this board so if my question is really lame then I do apologize. Ok well I am using XBMC like most people are, and I assigned F9 to be my key map to start a script in XBMC, but i mapped it in keymaps.xml (just easier for me back then) anyways I finally found the x10 plugin for eventghost and I want to start my script using F9 and have my lights go off at the same time. Is this possible? I've been trying to do this for the last couple of hours, but it seems anytime I assign F9 to the x10 command the script wont work in xbmc and vice versa. I would just like to push one button and the script to work AND the lights to go off.

Thank you in advance.

When I try to have one key do two different macros (in the same program) I will make the two macros but at the beginning/end of each macro I will add an action to disable ITSELF (beginning) and also enable the next/other macro (end). Do the same for both.

But...
You'll only be able to do it in that specific order (1,2,1,2,1,2) from the remote.
And if you use the keyboard instead for F9 that can "mess" with the order in EG.

Like most of my solutions it may not be the best way.
And this could probably also be done better with some python code (to detect what is/isn't running and automatically run the right macro.
But I know nothing about python.

Hope this helps some.
